I learn “French Fries,” but they order “Chips.”
I say “Thanks,” but they reply “Cheers.”
I know “Center,” but they spell “Centre.”
I “apologize”, but they “apologise.”
Similar, yet just different.
Gee! American English vs. British English.
I suddenly realize that I still have a long long way to go.
Polish tell me," Your English is good.”
German compliment me, “You speak English so fluently.”
I am flattered, yet I dare not fulfill.
What I care more is “How those British think?”
So far, they say,”Your English is better than most foreigners here.”
Good, yet just not enough.
Yeah, I am always learning!
